JONES ROAD (HAMPTON  WILDHAVEN PARK) FINN ROAD WALKWAY

 PHASE II

 DETAILED PROJECT DESCRIPTION

Jones Road (Hampton Wildhaven Park) Finn Road Walkway (proposed) is located in Hampton Township, Bay County.  The walkway is near the south shore of the Saginaw Bay.  The Township proposes to install a foot and bicycle path between Finn and Jones Roads.  This project was originally to be completed in two (2) phases but because of the size of the project the Township has decided to do the project in three (3) phases.

Phase II, will include construction of a foot and bicycle path along Saginaw Bay.  The foot and bicycle path will be a ten foot (10’) wide limestone path.  Phase II will complete approximately seventy-five (75) percent of this project.

The Township’s recreation plan also encompasses this walkway project. This walkway project will eventually be connected to the railtrail system in the Bay City area and adjacent Portsmouth Township.

The Township is working closely with all governmental agencies that have an interest in the project; particularly DEQ and DNR Agencies.  This way we can make sure that all parties are in complete agreement throughout the construction and placement of this foot and bicycle path in the Township.
