Informational Notices for Military and Overseas Civilian Voters:

Requests for absentee ballots submitted by covered voters prior to this year are no longer valid and cannot be honored.

To help inform the impacted voters of this change and the new procedures that permit such voter to receive a ballot by e-mail or fax, we have prepared the attached notifications.

The first notice, addressed directly to military and overseas civilian voters, should be forwarded to any covered voters who reside within your jurisdiction as soon as possible.  The notice contains the address for the Michigan Voter Information Center (MVIC) Web site maintained by the Michigan Department of State (www.Michigan.gov/vote).  The Web site provides contact information for Michigan's city and township clerks.

The second notice is addressed to those residents in your jurisdiction who may be in contact with military and overseas civilian voters.  It is suggested that this information be included in your community newsletter or inserted with materials routinely mailed to the residents of your city or township.

Clerks are free to use the notifications at their discretion.
